About Our Soap
Our Story
We are based in the Highlands of Scotland and we were unhappy with the soaps we as a family were using. Our children have sensitive skin and some soaps were causing their eczema to flair up. We noticed many soaps, especially handwash soaps had many ingredients within them that have been reported to be harmful (eg: Methylisothiazolinone, a powerful synthetic biocide). We couldn’t believe how many skincare products contain palm oil too!
The amount of plastic bottles and packaging used in the skincare products we were buying made us feel uncomfortable too. So we decided to make our own soap so we knew exactly what was going in it and eliminated the need for plastic packaging too.
And it pretty much snowballed from there!
Our Packaging
We don’t use any plastic in our packaging. We use wax paper to gift wrap the soap which biodegrades at the same rate as leaf litter in a forest. Natural twine is used to tie the wax paper and recycled brown kraft card for the ingredients tag.
Our Soaps & Shampoos
The soap we use is coconut based vegetable gylcerine. The beautiful scents come from the natural essential oils, not fragrance. Here’s a list of all the awesome things about our soap:
- Vegan friendly
- NO palm oil
- Free from parabens, SLS, Surfactants, MPG, petrochemicals, formaldehyde and mineral oils.
- Not tested on animals
- Individually hand poured
